A Classic Wedding Gown

My mother was a radiant bride. At the young age of 17, she married my father in a beautiful church ceremony. She wore a white lace dress with long sleeves and a royal train. Unfortunately, my mom didn’t store her gown properly. Therefore, the white color darkened over the years. While I couldn’t wear my mom’s beautiful gown at my wedding, I purchased one with plenty of lace accents. If you’re planning an upcoming wedding, consider choosing a gown with lace detailing. This style of dress is timeless. On this blog, you will discover how to select the perfect wedding gown for your big day.

Fun And Unique Wedding Ideas

Blog

If you are engaged and are contemplating what type of wedding theme to have, you may want to consider something out of the ordinary and unique to surprise your guests and give everyone a wedding to remember. Do not allow others to influence you to have a traditional wedding if unique wedding ideas fit your personality. It is your day, so you should be allowed to do what pleases you most. Here are some unique ideas to think about when trying to plan your own wedding.

Masquerade Wedding

If you are goth or enjoy the Halloween season, you may want to host a masquerade ball for your wedding day. Send out invitations telling each of your guests to come to the wedding in costume. The element of surprise will give your wedding an eerie yet magical feel as the guests arrive. Think about wearing a black dress instead of white to go with the goth theme.

Have a chocolate cake with red berries as a contrast color and place masquerade masks on top for your cake topper. Black rose petals can be used when you walk down the aisle, and candles can be lit all over the venue to give it that spooky feel.

Summer Picnic Wedding

If you are holding your wedding in the summer months, a picnic wedding theme is a unique reception idea. Hold your wedding in a large field or backyard. Place a blanket on the ground for each couple and put a picnic basket including all the fixings for a picnic on the blanket. Include a bottle of wine with a bottle opener, wine glasses, cheese, crackers, grapes and other light fare.

Have the wedding catered with picnic and barbecue foods at a station the guests can visit and bring back to their blanket for an intimate dinner. Have yard games available for the guests to play, including croquet, horseshoes and badminton. Place the dance floor right in the middle of the field and make sure the disc jockey has a remote electrical source to be able to keep your guests dancing in the middle of the countryside.

Country Themed Wedding

Have your guests dress country style and serve barbecue food for a country-themed wedding. Rent a mechanical bull for guests to enjoy and for a great picture-taking opportunity. Have your disc jockey teach guests moves to popular line dances to try during the festivities. Decor can incorporate rope and denim. Incorporate the use of mason jars for centerpieces or flower pots and have the ring bearer hold a burlap pillow instead of a white one.
